undergraduate students

The Writing Center at Oklahoma State University hires undergraduate students to serve as part-time peer consultants. Writing Center Peer Tutors engage in conversation with their peers about goals and revision strategies for a piece of writing. Applicants should possess both strong writing and interpersonal skills, but no teaching or tutoring experience is required as tutors will be mentored throughout the year. We encourage those who enjoy collaboration and value working and learning from others to apply. The Writing Center values the experiences of students from all disciplinary and language backgrounds. Work study students are encouraged. Those selected will consult for 10 hours each week, and attend a one-hour weekly staff meeting.

Oklahoma State University is an EEO E-Verify employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

Interested students should email a resume, two academic writing samples, contact for a faculty reference, and a cover letter outlining your individual writing process and reasons for wanting to work in the writing center to writingcenter@okstate.edu. Applications will be taken on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
